PARISH SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
P4 Children from St Oliver Plunkett Primary School will receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion next Saturday 15th May.
We ask all our Parishioners to keep the children and their parents in their prayers.

First Holy Communion takes place next Saturday 15th May at 10am. This is only the beginning of your journey into friendship with Jesus. We encourage you to be faithful to your attendance at Sunday Mass in the coming weeks, months and years ahead.

Annual Le Chéile - Together Lecture

on Tuesday 11 May 2010 at 7.30 pm.

CEMETERY SUNDAY

Milltown Cemetery Sunday
will take place on 9th May at 3.00pm

Belfast City Cemetery
will take place on 16th May at 3.00pm

On Sunday 9th May at 3pm sharp, there will be a Ceremony of Prayers for the Dead and a Blessing of Graves at Milltown Cemetery, led by His Lordship the Bishop. All those attending are asked to be in position at the grave of their own deceased by 2.45pm. The Ceremony will last about 40 minutes. Over 30,000 people attended the Ceremony last year. Misselettes will be distributed within the grounds of the Cemetery.

In preparation for this Spiritual occasion, all those who have deceased relatives or friends buried in Milltown are asked to make a special effort to tidy up the grave plots for which they are responsible, disposing of rubbish appropriately.

FOR SAFETY REASONS NO PARKING IS PERMITTED INSIDE THE CEMETERY OR AT THE CEMETERY GATES







Choice Weekend

If you are single (i.e. never been married), aged between 20 - 45 and are keen to share your faith and life experiences with others in a friendly atmosphere, as well as making new friends, come along to our next Choice weekend at Drumalis on 15th & 16th May. Faith and Fun can go together.

The Irish Catholic

The Irish Catholic Newspaper will be running a promotion in the Parish next weekend (15th and 16th May). There will be a complimentary copy of the newspaper available for all families attending Mass. This will be a great opportunity to try out the Irish Catholic, especially if you have never read it before. Deputy Editor, Michael Kelly will be speaking at all the Masses.

St Oliver Plunkett/St Matthew’s Ecumenical Group

Shirley Bowers, Arise Ministries, will give a talk to the Ecumenical Group on Monday 24th May at 7.30pm. She will speak about how God has brought healing into her life and led her to seek to bring reconciliation for the deep wounds caused by Oliver Cromwell to Ireland and the Irish people.

Next available date for baptism is Sunday 16th May 2010 at 1.30pm. The next pre-Baptism instruction will be on Thursday 20th May 2010 at 8pm in the convent.

It is necessary to attend pre-Baptism preparation before asking to have your child baptised. To register for pre-Baptism preparation please contact the parish office 9061 8180 Monday to Friday 9.00am-5.00pm
