St Oliver Plunkett
Parish Bulletin for Sunday 10th May 2009

Fifth Sunday of Easter

Dear Parishioners of St Oliver Plunkett

I have the pleasure of forwarding a cheque for £325 to your parish priest as the amount due to your parish for contributions received over the last six months to the Diocesan Appeal ‘Planning for the Future’. In accordance with the terms of the Appeal your parish to date has now received back £7,204. I thank you for your generosity and continued commitment towards the Appeal. Many of you will now have honoured the pledges which you made. If perchance you have not received my letter of thanks from the Appeals Office, I would ask you to contact the office on 9075 6565 or email - details below. You will be pleased to know that at present 64 of our 88 parishes have exceeded their target and a total amount of £3,511,449 has now been returned to those parishes. A further 4 parishes should reach their target figure in the near future. Further amounts have been assigned to the three specific aims of the appeal: Sick & Retired Priests, £24,926, Faith Development, £24,926 and St Peter’s Cathedral Restoration, £19,941. This completes the original target of the Campaign whereby Sick & Retired Priests Fund receives £2,500,000, Faith Development receives £2,500,000 and St Peter’s Cathedral Restoration Fund receives £2,000,000. The undertaking of the Diocesan wide Appeal for the very necessary aims was a great act of faith, faith in the generosity of so very many loyal and faithful people.

May God reward you for your generosity and solidarity.

Yours sincerely,

+ Noel Treanor
