33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Dear Parishioners
You will see in the bulletin this weekend the new timetable for Masses, Confessions and Baptisms in our parish that I have devised. In choosing these times, I have tried as much as possible to keep as closely as possible to the previous timetable. For weekdays I have followed the principle of “a Mass each day” and two on a Sunday. There may be times when I will receive assistance from other priests but I cannot depend upon this. Obviously for some people the new timetable will bring some disappointment particularly for those who like to attend the same Mass each day or each week. In revising the timetable I have tried to be realistic and to cater for different needs such as the Friday evening Mass to allow for family groups to come together to celebrate an anniversary or Month’s Mind. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support over the past 5 years with a particular word of thanks to the people who have recently come forward to offer help in the light of Fr Devlin’s new appointment and the fact that he was not replaced. I continue to ask for your prayers and support as we adjust to this new situation.
With prayerful thanks
Fr Martin J Magill
Parish Priest.
