St Oliver Plunkett
Parish Bulletin for Sunday 13th May 2007

Sixth Sunday of Easter

Dear Parishioners of St. Oliver Plunkett’s

I write to inform you of the progress of our Diocesan Appeal ‘Planning for the Future’ both as regards your parish and the aims of the Appeal.

You the parishioners of St. Oliver Plunkett were set a target of £67,133. You made commitments of £78,494 of which you have now contributed £52,219 with a further £6,678 in gift aid, making a total of £58,897. My sincerest thanks to all.

I appreciate and understand that a donation pledge over a number of years can be a demanding and stretching financial contribution. I urge you to maintain, if at all possible, you commitment to enable the diocese and your parish to continue to plan with confidence for the future.

You will be pleased to know that 55 of our 88 parishes have now exceeded their target and a total amount of £2,716,651 has been returned to those parishes. A further £200,000 has been assigned to the Fund of our Sick and Retired Priests, £200,000 to provide resources for Faith Development and £160,000 to the Cathedral, making the total amounts £2,280,074, £2,280,074 and £1,824,059 respectively.

The generosity of so many parishioners right across the Diocese to the Appeal is enabling us to plan well for the future.

I pray God’s blessing on St. Oliver Plunkett parish.

Yours sincerely

+ Patrick Walsh

Vision Seminar

Vision is a Life-changing experience. People learn to see themselves as God see them, in a totally positive light. They learn to use the beatitudes to move from the negative world of scarcity to God’s world which is full of abundance. The result is that people experience fulfilling lives and improved relationships. One of the biggest benefits is that people learn a new and powerful way to pray and to meditate something that appeals to all age groups. The seminar is suitable for 14 year olds and upwards.
