Parish Bulletin for Sunday 4th June 2006

Feast
of Pentecost
Pentecost
saw the birth of a new community, the new People
of God. Today then is the birthday of the Church.
This is the day the apostles left the upper room,
where they had been hiding for fear of the Jews,
and went out fearlessly to preach the Gospel.
They could not have done this without “power
from on high”, that is, the Holy Spirit.

Come
Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful,
And kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.
And they shall renew the face of the earth.

Parish
Celebrates 30 Years
In
August our parish will have been in existence
30 years. To mark the 30th anniversary there will
be a celebration in October at the time of the
cannonisation of St. Oliver Plunkett. To prepare
for this there will be a number of refurbishments
around the Church. Next week the repainting of
the inside of the Church will get underway. Suggestions
of how we can mark the 30th anniversary are especially
welcome.
